Germany Increases Social Tax Thresholds, Benefit Values

Germany’s social tax wage thresholds and the values of benefits in kind for social tax purposes were increased for 2024 in two ordinances published in the country’s gazette Nov. 29 and 30.

The wage threshold above which employees do not have to be covered by statutory health insurance increased to 69,300 euros (US$75,403.60) annually, up from 66,600 euros, the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs’ ordinance (German) said.
