Google Seeks 5th Cir. Review of NLRB’s YouTube Bargaining Order

Alphabet Inc.’s Google has appealed a National Labor Relations Board ruling that it illegally refused to bargain with the union representing YouTube contract staff, in a likely bid to overturn the agency’s finding that the tech giant jointly employs the workers.

In a filing posted to the docket Monday, Google petitioned the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit to review the board’s Jan. 3 ruling that it and Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp.—the YouTube workers’ direct employer—had violated the National Labor Relations Act.
