Grant County, Kentucky, is reducing its payroll tax rate to 2% from 2.5% effective July 1, under an ordinance enacted May 5.
The payroll tax, also referred to as an occupational license tax, is being decreased due to the county’s improved financial conditions, under Ordinance 0006-2026-0298. The tax applies to all wages and compensation paid for work done in the county.
The county released a notice on May 6 informing employers of the rate change. The notice contains a link to access updated tax forms.
