Hawaii released its 2024 unemployment insurance tax rates and wage base in a Dec. 28 update on the state unemployment insurance website.
Contribution Rate Schedule D is in effect for 2024, according to the update. Schedule D tax rates range from 0.2% to 3% for positively rated employers and from 3.4% to 5.8% for negatively rated employers, according to the state’s unemployment insurance employer handbook.
The rate for new employers will decrease to 3%, from 4% in 2023, while the employment and training assessment remains unchanged at 0.01%.
