Hawaii Repeals Subminimum Wage for Workers with Disabilities

Hawaii eliminated the subminimum wage that previously could be paid to individuals with disabilities under a bill (S.B. 793) that Gov. David Ige (D) signed into law on June 16 and is effective immediately.

The measure does not affect penalties or proceedings that began before the measure’s effective date.
