Hawaii Replaces Annual Reconciliation Form With New Return

Hawaii’s annual reconciliation form for withholding was replaced with a similar annual return, released Sept. 22, that does not require reconciliation, the state tax department said.

The new Form HW-30, Employer’s Annual Transmittal of Hawaii Income Tax Withheld from Wages, replaces Form HW-3, Employer’s Annual Return & Reconciliation of Hawaii Income Tax Withheld from Wages, and only requires the number of wage statements filed, total wages paid, and total Hawaii tax withheld to be reported. The new form must be filed for the first time for the 2020 tax year, it said.
