Hawaii’s unemployment-taxable wage base is to rise to $51,600 in 2022, up from $47,400 in 2021, the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations said Nov. 29.
Unemployment tax rates are to be determined with Schedule D for 2022, as in 2021, the department said on its website. Tax rates for experienced employers are to range from 0.2% to 5.8%.
The 2022 tax rate for new employers is to be 3%, unchanged from 2021.
The employment training and assessment rate is to be 0.01% for 2022, unchanged from 2021.
