The Pakistani provinces of Punjab and the Islamabad Capital Territory increased their minimum wages to 20,000 Pakistani rupees (U.S. $119.23) per month, or 769.23 Pakistani rupees (U.S. $4.59) per day, effective July 1, according to notices released on June 30 and Aug. 6, respectively.
The province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa increased its monthly minimum wage to 21,000 Pakistani rupees (U.S. $125.19), or 807.69 Pakistani rupees (U.S. $4.81) per day, effective July 1, according to a notice released Aug. 6.
The minimum wage increases apply to adult, unskilled, juvenile, and adolescent workers in all industrial and commercial enterprises.
