Idaho to Increase Unemployment-Taxable Wage Base for 2019

Effective Jan. 1, 2019, Idaho’s unemployment-taxable wage base is to be $40,000, up from $38,200 for 2018, the state Labor Department said Dec. 14 on its website.

Employers have to pay a tax on each employee’s wages up to this amount, at a rate set by the state.

Idaho is the fourth state to have a wage base that is set at $40,000 or more for 2019; Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington are the other three. Alaska’s unemployment taxable wage base is $39,900 for 2019.
