New Idaho employees and those making changes to their withholding must fill out the state withholding certificate starting in 2020, the state tax commission said Jan. 24.
The affected employees must fill out both the federal Form W-4 and Form ID W-4, Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate, the commission said in a newsletter. If new employees do not fill out Form ID W-4, the employer should withhold as if they are single and claimed zero allowances, the commission said.
