Effective Jan. 1, 2019, unemployment tax rates for Illinois employers generally are to decrease, the state department of Employment Security said on its website Nov. 30.
Unemployment tax rates for experienced employers are to range from 0.475 percent to 6.875 percent in 2019, compared with 0.525 percent to 6.925 percent in 2018.
The standard unemployment tax rate for new employers is to be 3.175 percent in 2019, down from 3.225 percent for 2018. The unemployment tax rate for new employers in the mining industry is to be 3.575 percent for 2019, down from 3.925 percent for 2018.
