Illinois released its 2026 unemployment insurance tax rates in a publication from the Employment Security Department.
Tax rates for experienced employers range from 0.75% to 7.05%, including a 0.55% fund-building surtax, according to the publication.
New employers are generally subject to a 3.35% tax rate, but the rate is 3.45% for those assigned a North American Industry Classification System code in sector 56, the administrative support and waste management industry. The rates include the 0.55% fund-building surtax, according to the publication.
The unemployment-taxable wage base increased to $14,250 for 2026, according to the publication.
