Illinois announced its 2025 unemployment insurance tax rates in a publication released by the Employment Security Department.
Tax rates for experienced employers will range from 0.75% to 7.85%, according to the publication.
New employers are generally subject to a 3.65% tax rate, but the rate will be 3.75% for those assigned a North American Industrial Classification System code in sectors 56 or 99, according to the publication. Sector 56 covers the administrative support and waste management industry, while sector 99 applies to businesses that cannot be classified in any other industry.
