The Indian State of Bihar’s daily minimum wages as of Oct. 1 range from 277 Indian rupees (U.S. $3.91) to 429 Indian rupees (U.S. $6.06), up from 268 Indian rupees (U.S. $3.78) to 415 Indian rupees (U.S. $5.86).
Increases to Bihar’s minimum wages took effect because of increases to the applicable dearness allowances, which are cost-of-living adjustments, added to the basic minimum wage rates for Bihar’s industry sectors, the government of Bihar said in a notification. Bihar’s revised minimum wages are to be in effect until March 31, 2020.
