India’s union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu increased its daily minimum wages effective July 1, an Aug. 18 notice from the territory’s government said.
Under the notice, daily minimum wages range from 441 Indian rupees (US$5.34) to 462 Indian rupees, depending on skill level.
The notice has a provision for a “special allowance” to be adjusted every six months on Oct. 1 and April 1 but does not yet specify a value for the allowance.
