Iowa Extends W-2 Filing Deadline

Feb. 5, 2019, 3:53 PM UTC

The Iowa deadline for filing 2018 Forms W-2 was extended to Feb. 28 from Jan. 31, the state revenue department said on its website.

The deadline was extended because the department discovered an issue with its electronic filing system on Jan. 30 affecting the ability of some employers to file Forms W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, a spokesman for the department told Bloomberg Tax on Feb. 4.

The 2019 filing season is the first in which Iowa requires all employers to file Forms W-2 electronically.
