Iowa Issues 2021 Unemployment Tax Rates

Iowa’s unemployment tax rates are not to change for 2021, the state Department of Workforce Development said Aug. 31.

Effective for 2021, unemployment tax rates for experienced employers are to be determined with Table 7 and range from zero to 7.5%, unchanged from 2020, the department said on its website.

For 2021, the tax rate for new nonconstruction employers is to be 1% and the tax rate for new construction employers is to be 7.5%, unchanged from 2020.

Iowa’s unemployment-taxable wage base is to be $32,400 for 2021.
