A finalized regulation by Iowa’s revenue department that moves back the state W-2 filing deadline starting in 2020 was published Sept. 25.
The regulation, which appeared in the Iowa Administrative Bulletin, requires employers to file Forms W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, and send the forms to employees by Feb. 15 of each year, instead of Jan. 31. The rule applies starting with tax year 2019 forms filed in 2020, it said.
The Feb. 15 deadline also applies to Forms 1099 that contain Iowa withholding, the regulation said.
