The weekly wage threshold determining employer contributions to Ireland’s Pay-Related Social Insurance and the amounts of public benefits will increase at the start of 2025 under a bill signed Oct. 28.
The Social Welfare Act 2024 increases the PRSI weekly wage threshold to 527 euros (US$573.41), from 496 euros, on Jan. 1. If an employee’s weekly wages are up to the threshold, the employer is assessed a rate of 8.9% for that employee, and if an employee’s weekly wages are more than the threshold, the employer is assessed a rate of 11.05% for that employee.
