The Internal Revenue Service added Forms 940-X, 941-X, 943-X, and 945-X to its Modernized e-File program, an IRS analyst said Aug. 1.
The forms were added as of June 16, said Chase Crocker, an IRS program analyst. Modernized e-File allows certain businesses to electronically file specific tax returns through the internet.
Form 944-X, Adjusted Employer’s Annual Federal Tax Return or Claim for Refund, was not included to Modernized e-File because of its infrequent use and possible discontinuation in the future, Crocker added.
