Alabama victims of Hurricane Sally have until Jan. 15 to file some payroll tax returns, the Internal Revenue Service said Sept. 21.
The hurricane, which made landfall Sept. 16 in Alabama, brought torrential rain, flooding, and damaging winds to the Gulf Coast area. Employers in Baldwin, Escambia, and Mobile counties may qualify for tax relief, the IRS said in a news release (AL-2020-02).
The Jan. 15 deadline applies to tax-filing and payment deadlines from Sept. 14 to Jan. 14, including quarterly payroll and excise tax returns due Nov. 2.
