Iowa victims of a recent severe wind storm have until Dec. 15 to file some payroll tax returns, the Internal Revenue Service said Aug. 24.
The storm, a derecho, was accompanied by torrential rain and tornadoes. Employers in Linn County may qualify for tax relief, the IRS said in a news release (IR-2020-190).
The new deadline applies to tax-filing and payment deadlines starting Aug. 10, including quarterly estimated income tax payments due Sept. 15 and quarterly payroll and excise tax returns due Oct. 31.
