IRS Extends Tax Deadlines for Storm Victims in Kentucky

Kentucky victims of recent severe storms have until June 30 to file some payroll tax returns, the Internal Revenue Service said April 29.

Storms that occurred in late February brought flooding, landslides, and mudslides to more than 25 counties in central and eastern Kentucky.

Employers in Boyd, Breathitt, Carter, Casey, Clay, Cumberland, Elliott, Estill, Floyd, Franklin, Jackson, Johnson, Knott, Knox, Lawrence, Lee, Lincoln, Magoffin, Marion, Martin, Mason, Morgan, Ohio, Pike, Powell, Rockcastle, and Wolfe counties may qualify for tax relief, the IRS said in a news release (KY-2021-01).
