The 2025 version of the federal withholding certificate in Spanish was released Dec. 26 by the Internal Revenue Service.
The 2025 Spanish Form W-4, Certificado de Retenciones del Empleado, contains similar changes to the English version of the form, including more guidance on when to use the IRS’s Tax Withholding Estimator. The estimator is available in Spanish.
Amounts used in the form’s worksheets were also updated, like in the English version of the form.
