A finalized new revision of the federal form used to request a determination of a worker’s status was released Dec. 12 by the Internal Revenue Service.
No changes were made to the final Form SS-8, Determination of Worker Status for Purposes of Federal Employment Taxes and Income Tax Withholding, compared to the draft released Sept. 11.
The new revision is dated December 2023. Form SS-8 was last revised in May 2014. Updated instructions were released March 21 and have a March 2023 revision date.
