Finalized versions of revised Forms 941 and 941-X were issued with instructions on June 22 by the Internal Revenue Service.
The forms were updated to reflect the end of the COBRA premium assistance credit, which generally expired Sept. 30, 2021, and had limited availability for the first quarter of 2022. Under “rare circumstances,” an employer may be able to claim to the COBRA premium assistance credit after the first quarter of 2022 by filing Form 941-X, the instructions for both forms said.
