The final 2023 federal withholding certificate for periodic pension payments was released Dec. 19 by the Internal Revenue Service.
The 2023 Form W-4P, Withholding Certificate for Periodic Pension and Annuity Payments, did not contain substantive changes from the draft released Dec. 2.
The form was first made available for the 2022 tax year but is required to be used starting with the 2023 tax year.
