Standard mileage rates for 2025 were released by the Internal Revenue Service in a Dec. 19 notice.
The 2025 standard mileage rate for travel expenses is 70 cents per mile, up from 67 cents, the IRS said in Notice 2025-05.
The rate for medical or moving purposes in 2025 is 21 cents per mile, unchanged from 2024, the IRS said. The rate for charitable purposes is set by statute and remains 14 cents per mile, the IRS said.
