Draft versions of two federal tax returns for employer adjustments and claims for refunds were released Dec. 10 by the Internal Revenue Service.
Revisions to the two forms generally reflected changes made to Form 941, Employer’s Quarterly Federal Tax Return, to accommodate coronavirus-related employment tax relief reporting. The finalized third version of Form 941 for 2020 was released Sept. 30 by the IRS.
The draft of Form 944-X, Adjusted Employer’s Annual Federal Tax Return or Claim for Refund, was expanded to 35 lines from 23 lines.
