IRS Releases Final 2025 Form 940 and Supporting Documents

The Internal Revenue Service released a finalized version of its 2025 annual federal unemployment tax return, its instructions, and one of its schedules.

Employers use Form 940, Employer’s Annual Federal Unemployment (FUTA) Tax Return, to report their annual federal unemployment tax. They must also include Schedule A, Multi-State Employer and Credit Reduction Information, if they pay state unemployment tax in multiple states or are in a state subject to a FUTA credit reduction.
