The Internal Revenue Service released a draft version of the Spanish-language 2023 Form W-4 and finalized versions of Forms W-4 and W-4R on Dec. 15.
Finalized Forms W-4 and W-4R are identical to draft versions released earlier this month.
The draft Spanish-language 2023 Form W-4(SP), Certificado de Retenciones del Empleado, contains the same changes made in the English-language version of the form.
Employees complete Form W-4, Employee’s Withholding Certificate, and Form W-4R, Withholding Certificate for Nonperiodic Payments and Eligible Rollover Distributions, so employers can withhold federal income taxes from their pay.
