The IRS released a third draft of the 2022 Form W-4R Nov. 9, which does not contain changes to the form itself.
The early release of Form W-4R, Withholding Certificate for Nonperiodic Payments and Eligible Rollover Distributions, is issued as a companion to the fourth early release of the draft 2022 Form W-4P, Withholding Certificate for Pension or Annuity Payments, the IRS said. The IRS has delayed the requirement of using both the redesigned Form W-4P and Form W-4R until Jan. 1, 2023.
