Israel’s health insurance contribution rates will increase starting in 2025 after amendments to its health insurance law were published March 17.
The amendments (Hebrew) to the State Health Insurance Law increase the higher of the two contribution rates to 5.165%, from 5%, and the lower of the two to 3.235%, from 3.1%.
The two contribution rates are separated by a threshold of 60% of Israel’s average monthly wage, which is 7,522 shekels (US$2,059.61) in 2024. The higher contribution rate then applies on wages of more than 7,522 shekels and up to 49,030 shekels in 2024.
