Johnson County, Iowa, encourages employers to pay employees at least $13.37 per hour starting July 1, according to an update on the county’s minimum wage webpage.
The current recommended minimum wage is $13.02 per hour as of July 1, 2025, according to a 2025 press release.
State law makes local minimum wage laws void and unenforceable, so employers do not have to pay the recommended rate to employees, according to the webpage. Instead, employers are subject to Iowa’s minimum wage rate, which is $7.25 and does not change from year to year.
