Kentucky Issues 2022 Unemployment Tax Rates, Wage Base

Kentucky’s unemployment tax rates and unemployment-taxable wage base are to increase for 2022, the state Office of Unemployment Insurance said on Jan. 4.

Unemployment tax rates for 2022 are determined with Schedule C, the office said on its website. Rates range from 0.5% to 2.9% for positive-rated employers and from 7% to 9.5% for negative-rated employers.

The standard tax rate for new employers remains 2.7%. The revised tax rate for new contract construction employers with out-of-state headquarters is 9.5%, up from 9%.

The unemployment-taxable wage base for 2022 is $11,100, up from $10,800.
