Kentucky Law Revises Unemployment Tax, Benefit Requirements

Kentucky is making multiple changes to its state unemployment insurance program, under a bill Gov. Andrew Beshear (D) signed March 23 that will take effect July 1.

HB 146 modifies changes to Kentucky’s unemployment tax and benefit calculations that were made under a 2022 law, HB 4, that went into effect Jan. 1, 2023. HB 146 also makes nonsubstantive, technical changes to the state’s unemployment insurance law.
