Kentucky Prevents Unemployment Tax Increase for 2021

Kentucky’s unemployment tax rates and unemployment-taxable wage base for 2021 were revised to be the same as for 2020, the state Office of Unemployment Insurance said April 7.

Unemployment tax rates for 2021 are determined with Schedule A, as in 2020, the office said on its website. Rates range from 0.3% to 2.4% for positive-rated employers and from 6.5% to 9% for negative-rated employers.

The standard tax rate for new employers remains 2.7%. The revised tax rate for new contract construction employers with out-of-state headquarters is 9%, down from 10%.
