The Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet will launch a new unemployment insurance portal in May, according to an update on the state website.
KEWES, the current tax portal, will be replaced by the Kentucky Unemployment Insurance Portal, according to a checklist for employers. KUIP’s tax-related functions will be available for employers starting in May 2026, while functions relating to unemployment benefits and appeals are scheduled to be launched in 2028, according to a frequently asked questions and answers document from the state.
