King County, Washington, Passes Minimum Wage Law Effective 2025

King County, Washington, passed an ordinance creating a countywide minimum wage effective Jan. 1, 2025.

Ordinance 19762 applies to employers in unincorporated King County, which includes any area outside cities or towns.

The minimum wage that will go into effect in 2025 is $20.29 after the amount is increased based on changes to the consumer price index. The ordinance requires the Department of Local Services to annually adjust this rate.
