Louisiana Defers 1st Quarter Unemployment Tax Payments

Louisiana employers are to receive additional time to pay unemployment taxes assessed in the first quarter of 2020, the state Workforce Commission said March 19.

The deadline for sending first-quarter unemployment tax payments was moved to June 30 from April 30 to ease employer burdens during the spread of the coronavirus, the commission said on its website. No penalties are to be assessed for payments received by the new deadline.

Tax and wage reports still are due April 30, the commission said.
