Louisiana released its unemployment insurance contribution rate table for 2024 on Jan. 3.
Tax rates range from 0.09% to 1.96% for positive-rated employers and from 2.24% to 6.2% for negative-rated employers, under the table.
The tax rate for new employers is generally the average rate for employers in the same industrial classification, under state law. The rate may not be less than 1% nor more than the maximum experienced employer rate, which is 6.2% for 2024.
The unemployment-taxable wage base for 2024 is unchanged at $7,700.
