Maine’s hourly minimum wage will rise to $14.15, and the minimum wage for service employees will increase to $7.08 effective Jan. 1, 2024, according to a Sept. 15 press release from the state labor department.

Maine’s salary threshold for executive, administrative, and professional employees to be exempt from state minimum wage requirements will increase in 2024 to $816.35 per week, or $42,450.20 annually, according to the press release. For comparison, the 2023 salary threshold for exemption is $796.17 per week, or $41,401 annually.
