Maine released its 2024 unemployment insurance tax rate information in a table issued by the state’s Bureau of Unemployment Compensation.
The unadjusted tax rates for experienced employers in 2024 range from 0.28% to 6.03%, and the unadjusted tax rate for new employers is 2.32%. These tax rates include a 0.13% competitive-skills scholarship fund assessment, up from 0.07% in 2023, and a 0.15% unemployment program administrative fund assessment, unchanged from 2023.
The 2024 unemployment-taxable wage base is $12,000, under state law.
