Maine will continue using Schedule A, its lowest unemployment tax rate schedule, for calendar year 2026, according to a Nov. 5 press release from the Maine Labor Department.
Schedule A contains tax rates ranging from 0.5% to 6.4%, under state law.
The MDOL intends to send employers their individual unemployment tax rate information in December, according to the press release. The state expects the average tax per employee to be $267.60 per year.
Maine’s unemployment-taxable wage base is $12,000, according to the press release.
