Malibu, California, Suspends 2025 Minimum Wage Increase

The hourly minimum wage in Malibu, California, will remain $17.27 through June 30, 2026, according to an update on the city’s minimum wage webpage.

Malibu’s minimum wage law requires the rate to be inflation-adjusted annually, every July 1. However, the city council adopted an ordinance providing a one-year suspension of the minimum wage increase.

The suspension is intended to provide relief to businesses impacted by the Palisades fire, which occurred in January, according to the webpage .

Malibu updated its minimum wage poster following the ordinance’s passage. The poster is available in English and Spanish.
