Maryland’s unemployment tax rates for 2022 are determined with a lower tax rate schedule than used for 2021, the state Department of Labor said Jan. 11.
Effective Jan. 1, unemployment tax rates for experienced employers are determined with Table C and range from 1% to 10.5%, the department said on its website. Tax rates for 2021 were determined with Table F and ranged 2.2% to 13.5%.
The standard tax rate for new employers is 2.3%, unchanged from 2021, and the tax rate for new construction employers with headquarters in another state is 5.4%, down from 7% for 2021.
