Maryland’s hourly minimum wage will rise to $15 for all employers effective Jan. 1, 2024, under a bill (SB 555) Gov. Wes Moore (D) signed April 11.
Previously, state law contained scheduled increases in the minimum wage effective Jan. 1, 2024, to $14 from $13.25 for employers with at least 15 employees and to $13.40 from $12.80 for employers with up to 14 employees.
The minimum hourly cash wage for tipped employees remains unchanged at $3.63, but the maximum tip credit will rise to $11.37 for all employers effective Jan. 1, 2024, due to the minimum wage increase. ...
