Maryland’s unemployment-taxable wage base is to be $8,500 in 2020, unchanged from 2019, the state Department of Labor said Nov. 7 on its website.
Effective Jan. 1, 2020, unchanged from 2019, unemployment tax rates for experienced employers are to be determined with Table A and range from 0.3% to 7.5%.
The standard tax rate for new employers is to be 2.6% in 2020, unchanged from 2019. The 2020 tax rate for new construction employers with headquarters in another state is to be 4.5%, down from 4.8% for 2019.
