Maryland’s unemployment insurance tax rates will be determined using Tax Table A, according to an update on the Labor Department’s website.
Tax Table A has experienced employer rates ranging from 0.3% to 7.5%, according to the state’s contribution rate table. The tax rate for all new employers, including foreign contractors, is 2.6%.
Maryland’s unemployment-taxable wage base is $8,500, under state law.
