Massachusetts unemployment tax rates are to be unchanged for 2020, the state Department of Unemployment Assistance said Dec. 5.
Effective Jan. 1, 2020, unemployment tax rates for experienced employers are to be determined with Schedule E, the department said on its website. Tax rates are to range from 0.94% to 5.24% for positive-rated employers and from 7.03% to 14.37% for negative-rated employers.
The tax rate for new nonconstruction employers is to be 2.42% in 2020, unchanged from 2019. The tax rate for new construction employers is to be 7.37% in 2020, up from 6.91% in 2019.
